Policy and Advocacy

Many African governments are willing to build a biofuel economy but ill-equipped to start. ABA supports them on that journey.

  • SAF inclusion in national aviation and energy strategies

Investment Mobilisation

Building the case for investable opportunities and channelling public and private capital into bankable projects.

  • Engagement with World Bank Mission 300 energy compacts
  • Biofuels inclusion in DFI mandates — AfDB, AFC, EBRD, DFC, USTDA
  • Investor roadshows in Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Mozambique
  • Cooperation with US, Brazil and India for technology transfer

Evidence and Standards

A sustainable biofuels industry in Africa requires a tailored approach grounded in data and technological innovation.

  • Lifecycle GHG analysis (CORSIA and US GREET standards)
  • Harmonised product specifications for cooking and fuel-grade ethanol
